My Story

A Small Introduction

Monica Dilger, DMD

I’m Dr. Monica Dilger and I recently opened Bluebird Family Dental here in Nazareth Borough. I grew up in the Poconos where my father practices dentistry and my mother is his office manager, along with every other role possible at their in-home office. I’m one of five children and the only sister of the bunch, so you can only imagine the chaos and noise his patients heard during their routine visits! It was there where I received my first real glimpse into the dental field and a true sense of what a patient-first practice mentality looks like. To put it simply, he truly cares about his patients, and still does while practicing dentistry at the youthful age of 70.

I’ll spare you my entire life story and fast-forward a bit. I studied undergrad at the University of Pittsburgh and then attended Temple University: Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA. Fresh out of dental school, I practiced in our area and I have been for the last 8 years, gaining experience in offices located in Phillipsburg, NJ, Bethlehem, Nazareth, and Washington, NJ.

My husband and I lived in Palmer Township in 2019 and often frequented Jacobsburg State Park here in Bushkill Township. Between the outdoors and the quaint borough we relocated and became full-time Nazareth residents in 2021.

Bluebird Family Dental is Born

In late 2024, an opportunity finally presented itself to acquire a dental practice in the place I call home. At the end of February 2025, I closed on the prior Keystone Dentistry Nazareth location. We re-branded it into Bluebird Family Dental which has been up and running since early March.

We are located at the old Nazarene Church on New Street (Rt 191) in Nazareth Borough with an official address of 241 E North Street Nazareth PA, 18064. With all the new construction and warehouses going up around the area I’m grateful to be able to open a small business in a building that has deep ties to the Nazareth community.

Why Bluebird?

Many assume Bluebird came from Nazareth’s “Home of the Blue Eagles” — a good guess, but not quite! When choosing a name, I focused on symbolism and meaning.

The bluebird is a universal symbol of happiness, hope, and renewal. Here’s why it felt right for us:

  1. Joy & Optimism — A sign of good luck and a reminder to see the bright side.
  2. Renewal & Transformation — Symbolizing new beginnings and personal growth.
  3. Peace & Tranquility — Their soft blue color evokes calm and balance.
  4. Love & Family — Known for loyalty and strong family bonds.

For Bluebird Family Dental, it represents a warm, positive, and comforting experience — turning dental visits into moments of renewal and care.

My Dental Practice Philosophy

You might be thinking that it’s impossible to give people a “bluebird experience” at the dentist, everyone hates going. I think the solution is quite simple.

What I think it takes to be a Top Dentist in Nazareth

At Bluebird Family Dental, we believe in a patient-first approach—making sure you feel comfortable, heard, and valued at every visit. Here’s how we achieve that:

  • Clear & Honest Communication – We take the time to explain your treatment options, answer your questions, and ensure you feel confident in your dental care decisions. We make sure you’re an educated patient.
  • Transparency – Pre-treatment pricing helps alleviate surprises. We verify insurances and always get your consent before any work takes place. You’re never stuck with unexpected costs after work has been completed.
  • Trust – Patients can feel confident knowing that every treatment recommendation is made with integrity and their long-term oral health is our top priority. We focus on building lasting relationships, not just one-time visits! No costly procedures that you don’t truly need!
  • Respect for Your Time – We strive to keep wait times short, provide efficient appointments, and offer flexible scheduling to fit your busy life.
  • A Comfortable & Welcoming Atmosphere – Our friendly team and calming environment help make every visit as stress-free as possible. I plan to be here for the long haul, a lot of people are looking for stability in who provides their dental care. I am happy to serve our community for the future.
  • Personalized Care for Every Patient – No two smiles are the same! We listen to your concerns and tailor treatments to your individual needs.
  • A Focus on Comfort & Anxiety-Free Dentistry – We offer gentle care and a relaxing atmosphere to ease anxiety, making your experience as comfortable as possible. We take all feedback seriously and will make the changes to better your visits.
  • Ongoing Support & Follow-Up Care – We follow up after major procedures, send helpful reminders, and provide tips to keep your smile healthy between visits.

    1. Hi Deborah,
Thanks for reaching out, we are accepting most major insurances so I can’t list them all out here, but we have a great Insurance Coordinator, Christine, who you can call or text and she will gladly answer any questions you have. She will also be able to provide pricing for treatment before any work is commenced. Please give her a call at 6107590906. Look forward to hearing from you!

    1. Your best bet is to call 610-759-0906 and speak with Christine, our insurance coordinator. She will look up your individual plan and see if the practice participates with your insurance. Plans vary even within each insurance company so we don’t like to give a blanket yes to any insurance provider.
